Umbrella insurance is the insurance that you need to cover you completely where your general policies don’t quite fit. Umbrella insurance is basically added liability insurance that covers you beyond your existing coverage. The whole purpose of it is to give you another layer of protection if something bad happens and puts you at risk. The aspects of an insurance policy that many people do not consider are concerns such as the invasion of privacy, slander, libel, bodily injuries, property damages, landlord liability, personal injury, or other general misfortunes that could put you at risk. Though it is not considered excess insurance, umbrella insurance does give you added protection that goes beyond your current coverage.
Insurance policies aren’t perfect. Sometimes, policies do not cover certain aspects that you would think would be covered. Give yourself some extra layers of protection for those “just in case” times.
